Meet Michael Lindt
Michael Lindt
My name is Michael Lindt and I'm a relatively new member of the Rockton community. I was born and raised in Hutchinson, Kansas. I graduated college from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Electrical Engineering. I lived in Chicago for 4 years until I met the love of my life and moved to Rockton, her hometown. We've been married and have lived in Rockton for four years and we have been blessed with three wonderful children.
I have worked as a consultant for a major connectivity company for seven years before switching careers to work as a Division Manager at a local low voltage electrical contactor. Throughout my career I have been responsible for end-to-end delivery of complex projects, so I have experience selling, managing project workloads, managing personnel, and ensuring the project turns a profit. These responsibilities and experiences have given me a unique set of tools that I plan on bringing to my time as Township Trustee.
I am running for Township Trustee for two reasons. First, I feel that I have an obligation to my family to invest my time and effort in helping make our community as good a place to live as possible. Secondly, I've become quite fond of this new home of mine, and I'd like to help keep Rockton a place that people can be proud to live in.
My main priorities and goals for my time as Township Trustee will be focused on financial responsibility, community outreach, professionalism, and community stewardship. First and foremost, a township needs to be able to prudently manage their taxpayer funds for the good of the township residents. I plan on bringing my analytical thinking and career experiences to bear to ensure the township is operating as efficiently as possible.
A township also needs to be able to interact with its residents. That interaction is critical in determining what the township residents' major concerns are so that they can be addressed. Something else I've found is that many people are largely unaware of what the township is responsible for, so I'd like to work on giving the Township a little more presence in the area.
As a trustee, I also plan to focus on professionalism and community stewardship. My engineering background has given me a great respect for organizations that embrace rational efficiency. I want to bring all that I've learned in the professional sphere about teamwork and proper use of resources to bear in making the Township as effective as possible. Part of that process involves taking care of our own assets and ensuring they are working for the community as intended.
My overall vision as a trustee is to help make Rockton Township a best-in-class township. I hope you can join me in this vision by voting for our caucus on April 1st, 2025.
